Three Spheres: Economic, Social and Environmental
Though often considered separately, the environmental, social and economic spheres of our society are very much interdependent. Neither the issues that we face, nor their proposed solutions can be thought of in isolation and without regards to all three. Therefore, we define sustainability as the balance and prosperity of these "Three Spheres."
Envirolution maintains a society that values each type of sphere equally will find a more unified and healthier quality of life for a greater amount of the population. Currently, our society's disproportionate emphasis on economic wealth has led to a pinnacle of human development, but this has often come at the expense of our environment and society. This unfortunate trend lies at the root of many of the problems we face today.
By using the Three Spheres framework to understand our current situation, define our goals, and guide our strategic development, Envirolution seeks to bring attention to this imbalance and work with others to try to remedy it.
Ultimately, sustainability is all about finding creative solutions that meet our current needs without sacrificing the needs of tomorrow. Â Consequently, all of our strategies have as an over-arching objective the achievement of win-win-win situations that achieve sustainable solutions in all three spheres.
Envirolution rallies around the environment because it is the sphere in most imminent danger. The consequences of a degraded environment extend far into the health of our society and our economy. The unbelievable quality of the environment is that we all depend on it for our survival and it has the ability to connect us and show our common interests.
We are passionate about expanding the sustainability movement, and we believe everyone has a role in building a sustainable future, from the inner city to the corporate world. Join us in working to balance the Three Spheres and moving toward a more sustainable future.
