What We Do

Events - The Envirolution Experience

Envirolution organizes conferences, workshops, seminars, fundraisers, cultural & art exhibitions, concerts and many other events that will raise awareness and facilitate positive collaboration.

Through these events, participants learn about issues and solutions (Educate), meet and network with others involved (Unite), establish avenues to affect positive change (Take Action), and have a great time in the process. Our most common format, termed The Envirolution Experience, creates a relaxed, fun environment that brings education and awareness to a community.  The guests enjoy entertainment coupled with an exhibitor and job fair expo.  To supplement the entertainment and expo, the Experience includes speakers and or discussion panels.

At our events, guests are exposed to a cross section of the local green economy, as well as to current leaders in this field. We strive to include representatives from various green industries, non-profits and educational institutions.  The experiences provide a place for the guests to meet others interested in sustainability and learn about opportunities in their community.

Urban Mentor GoGreen Tour

The Urban "Go Green" Tour is a yearlong, full-fledged marketing, branding and community awareness campaign that will launch in Harlem on June 6, 2008. The tour provides an opportunity for community members to learn about sustainability and the many opportunities in the green economy. There will be an immense amount of benefits that come with a switch to a more sustainable economy, and the urban market will play an important role. Green companies will expose the members to possible green jobs and training, along with informational materials on the benefits of green living.

The tour is an entertaining and engaging program that targets diverse, active, urban youth and adult consumers.  We expect to attract more than 3,000 local high school students as well as various community organizations and companies.

The Urban "Go Green" Tour offers special opportunities for our sponsors and advertisers to gain continuous visibility and recognition as socially responsible, corporate citizens in the new urban market, while reaping rewards well beyond their initial investment.

In addition to furthering the "green movement" via the hip-hop marketing model, the tour is designed to promote green companies, products, services and initiatives to urban consumers. In each city along the tour we present the following:

  • Urban "Go Green" Fair (Jobs segment, Products segment, College recruitment segment)
  • Urban "Go Green" events (Green NV Fashion Show, Urban "Go Green" Concert /Competitive Talent Show)
  • Urban "Go Green" Legacy programs ("Go Green, Get Green" Entrepreneurship Training and Development Program, "Green House" Product Replacement Program, "Emerald City" Contest, "Green Tee" design competition

2nd Annual Reno Envirolution Experience

“Youth Leadership in Sustainability”

The Reno Envirolution Experience will showcase environmental leadership and innovation across the business, government, and grassroots communities in the Reno/Tahoe area to educate and empower local citizens to become environmentally responsible in their personal and professional lives. This year’s event will particularly highlight the youth’s leadership in our area in regards to sustainability. Local students will organize and coordinate the event and there will be an entire section devoted to youth environmental groups.

THE EXPERIENCE:

This is the second annual Envirolution Experience for the Reno Chapter of Envirolution, the 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to mobilize, expand, and propel sustainable progress by empowering the next generation of leaders to implement solutions in their communities. Last year’s inaugural event was a major success: On a beautiful, sunny summer day, over 1,500 people showed up to enjoy the music, organic food and drinks, and to learn about sustainable solutions from local community leaders and organizations. The event received great feedback from the community and the participating companies. One seasoned city official even called it the “most impressive inaugural event for a new organization in the City’s history.”

This year’s event will again take place in downtown Reno at Wingfield Park on Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 12-6 pm. Perhaps most exciting about this year’s event is that it will be run primarily by local youth and will highlight student activity in this realm. One of Envirolution’s core missions is to empower youth and give them the opportunity to lead and organize environmentally responsible initiatives in their communities. High school and college students from Envirolution Clubs in the region will take a leading role in organizing this groundbreaking event. Many of the other local youth sustainability groups will also be present at this year’s event to demonstrate that our youth care about our local environment and are actively engaging in sustaining it.
